We believe that performing is a crucial part of musical growth, but we also know that stepping onto a stage can feel a little daunting. That's why we've created a truly safe and supportive environment specifically for our students to perform, experiment, and gain invaluable experience. Think of it as a friendly gathering where encouragement is guaranteed, and every performance is celebrated.

Why Should YOU Step Up to the Mic?

This open mic isn't just about showing off your skills; it's about developing them in a practical, real-world setting. Here’s why participating is a brilliant idea:

  • Build Confidence: Performing, even in a small setting, is a huge confidence booster. Overcome stage fright in a relaxed atmosphere and feel the thrill of sharing your music. This kind of experience is invaluable for any performer, whether you're working on classical pieces or contemporary songs.

  • Practice Your Craft: This is the perfect opportunity to try out that new piece you've been working on, perfect your stage presence, or get comfortable performing in front of an audience. It's an essential step in your musical journey.

  • Connect & Inspire: Hear what your fellow students are working on and be inspired by their talent. It's a fantastic way to bond with the Stalybridge Music Academy community and celebrate your shared passion for music. Who knows, you might even find new collaborators!

  • A No-Pressure Zone: Our goal is to foster growth, not add stress. Tee & Jo will be on hand to host, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and ready to perform. We welcome all styles and all levels – whether you're a seasoned performer or this is your very first time, your contribution is valued.

  • Share Your Passion: You can even bring a guest – a friend or family member – to cheer you on and see what you've been working so hard on! It’s a great way to share your musical journey with those closest to you.

Performing connects us to the deeper history and purpose of music – from ancient storytelling traditions to the grand concert halls. This open mic is your chance to add your voice to that rich tapestry, starting right here in Stalybridge.
