Encouraging students to engage with scales and triads in various pitches on the piano can significantly enhance their understanding and appreciation of music theory.  By playing these musical elements across different pitches, students gain a broader perspective on how scales and triads function within diverse musical contexts.

This varied approach not only aids in developing their aural skills but also reinforces their ability to recognise and replicate these patterns both in playing and potentially singing. It is crucial that students are comfortable with these tasks before they are assessed, emphasising success over failure. Additional exercises can support this learning process ensures that students build confidence and competence in their abilities.
