"What Was I Made For?" is a song by American singer Billie Eilish from Barbie: The Album, the soundtrack of the film Barbie.


According to NME the lyrics the star shares her experiences and feelings in the lyrics. The article continues to say how the artist viewed some unfinished scenes from the movie which motivated them to write most of the song in one night.


In a Daily Mail article the artist, Billie Eilish, states the she did not think about herself when writing the song however on reflection she realised that it was like writing about herself.
